ABOUT a VU on FOOD
These days, everyone seems to have a blog. Some want to have a forum to rant while others are industry experts. But there are a few who just have a passion for something and thought it’d be nice to share.
With no false pretenses, I humbly post recipes, photos, horror stories and adventures. The blog is called a VU on Food because it includes food cooked and/or enjoyed by not only myself but from one of the many chefs (both domestic and professional) in my family, (The Vu’s). We have a love for all types of cuisine and are always trying new and exotic foods from Vietnamese, British and Mexican (we grew up in California) to Colombian, Moroccan and Japanese; from the ultimate comfort foods to haute cuisine.
By no means do I consider myself a ‘writer’. Rather it is with modesty and simple joy that I hope to spread my love and curiosity for food. I am completely open to recommendations, thoughts and criticism, so please feel free to share!
A little bit about myself – I grew up in San Francisco (the Bay) and have lived in the Sacramento area, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, London and the Phoenix/Scottsdale area in Arizona. I have recently relocated back to the San Francisco Bay Area (Silicon Valley to be exact) with the hope of finally being settled. I’ve also studied or volunteered in Sevilla/Spain, Paris/France, Venezuela and Vietnam. I’ve also been fortunate to travel and eat in (other) amazing cities around the world – Las Vegas, New Orleans, Athens and Bangkok to name a few. I have a corporate finance background, and in 2010 I took some time to experience being a “chefette” as my chef instructors used to call me. I completed the Basic Cuisine course (mention bien) at Le Cordon Bleu in London and continue to put those skills into practice with family and friends. Stay tuned for more!
With Warm Wishes,
Christina (aka Nina) Vu Hutton
